Namaste is a respectful form of greeting in Hindu custom.
Namaste is usually spoken with a slight bow and hands pressed together, palms touching and fingers pointing upwards, thumbs close to the chest.
This gesture means "I bow to the divine in you". The greeting may also be spoken without the gesture, carrying the same meaning.
The way in which the hands come together in respect is the starting point of the Namaste chair. This gesture allowed us to explore the very essence of simplicity of form, and therefore create an object that is just as elegant and unobtrusive.
We used one material to further strip down the essence of the word, opting for a wireframe structure that uses angled metal wire to enforce the formal language. The final form creates a sense of welcome and openness.
This chair works for residential and commercial spaces, giving a classic and subdued feel to its surrounding.
